We Are Not Our Problems
June 10, 2008
1. What do you think a problem is?
A problem is something that holds us back. A problem is a negative think that sucks up energy. A problem is an obstacle. It’s something between me and what I want. It’s an excuse for my life not being what I want it to be.
2. Could you describe one of yours in just one sentence?
Oneof my problems is that I eat unhealthy food, too much food, and I don’t exercise enough to compensate for it.
3. How do you think we get problems?
Problems dvelop when negative behavior is rewarded in positive ways. Problems often arise when we seek to avoid difficult situations…when we don’t do positive things and work to prevent problems, they show up. Then if we avoid them…well, they just get worse.
4. Why do you think we have them?
Because we have not dealt with the root issues - we haven’t figured out WHY we keep repeating things that lead to problems.
We are vastly more than our body

1. What is”thought” to you?
Thought is the internal dialogue, the ideas, the conversations, the life that happens inside our own heads whether we are paying attention or not.
2. Where does it come from?
Sometimes it comes from habit, sometimes you make yourself think about something or have a specific thought, sometimes thought is spurred by an outside influence. Sometimes it is the voices of people who have believed in us, or people who have doubted us.
3. How do we originate it?
By choice, if we want to think good things. By deliberately deciding to have certain positive and productive thoughts.
4. What does it do? What is its purpose?
Sometimes its purpose is to lead us in new directions. Sometimes its purpose is to hold us back, or force us forward. New ideas are often a test of perseverence and determination.
5. Can it harm us? Can it help us? How?
Ngeative, self-defeating, self-deprecating thoughts can harm us, by holding us back, by saying something negative over and over so we believe it’s true. Positive, self-affirming, loving thoughts an help us by encouraging us, allowing for the flow of new ideas and creativity, and by beginning and maintaining habits that are healthy and positive for us.
6. What does this mean: “We are thought manifested into life form”?
Before we were formed, we were thought of, dreamed, imagined, perfected by God. And in order to have those things we want and believe our life is supposed to be - we have to do the same thing…think, dream, imagine, perfect.
Are we ready to walk in our own divinity? Any additional thoughts you might have? Feel free to comment, or blog and link back.
